Time to end corporate harms to people and planet
On Wednesday 21 October 2026, the Corporate Justice Coalition is organising the Good Business Matters mass lobby of Parliament.
Join people from across the UK in Westminster to meet your MP and call for a new law to hold UK companies to account for the harms they’re causing to people and the planet.
By coming together to meet our MPs on the same day, we can show the strength of public support for legislation to protect communities, workers and nature from irresponsible businesses.
Together, we'll tell our MPs that we won't stand by while companies profit from environmental destruction and human rights abuses - both here and around the world.
What's a mass lobby?
A mass lobby is when lots of people from across the country meet their MPs on the same day to demand urgent political action. By coming to Parliament together on 21 October, we can show MPs that protecting communities, workers and wildlife from irresponsible business matters to their constituents.
Why are we doing this?
Businesses are profiting from practices that are destroying our environment, threatening wildlife and violating people’s human rights, both here in the UK and around the world, through their global supply chains.
Meanwhile, current UK regulations aren't strong enough to prevent harm or hold companies accountable. Instead, communities and workers are often left to prove businesses’ wrongdoing, after the damage is done.
We’re organising the Good Business Matters mass lobby of Parliament to make sure MPs know this isn’t good enough. They must take urgent action to stop this happening, and protect people and nature from irresponsible businesses.
Why now?
This is a crucial political moment. Public support for stronger corporate accountability is growing, other countries are already taking action, and we know the UK government is currently looking into responsible business practices.
We need to make sure MPs seize this opportunity to protect people and nature from corporate abuse by calling for new legislation.
What are we asking MPs to do?
Our demand is simple. We’re calling on MPs to introduce a new law on business, human rights and the environment that would hold UK companies legally responsible for preventing harms to people and planet in their operations and supply chains, here and around the world.
On the day, we’ll ask MPs to support our campaign by:
Signing the Good Business Matters pledge and joining more than 80 parliamentarians backing a new law.
Writing to relevant ministers – to make a case for action with key decision-makers.
Sharing support for the law on social media – to help grow the movement behind our campaign and put pressure on the government to take action.
We'll provide you with a briefing (coming soon) to share with your MP on the day explaining why the campaign matters and what they can do.
For MPs who already support the campaign, we'll encourage them to go further by making a public statement of support, speaking at parliamentary debates and asking parliamentary questions to keep the law in the spotlight.
What to expect on the day
10:30-12:30: Kick-off event (near Westminster)
Hear from inspirational speakers about why a new law is needed. We'll also prep you with everything you need to know for meeting your MP and talking to them about the campaign. There’ll be time to meet with fellow activists, find others from your constituency and grab some lunch (provided).
12:30-1:30pm: Group photo near Parliament
Feeling inspired and confident, we’ll walk to a nearby location outside Parliament and take a group photo to capture the strength of our movement.
1:30-4pm: Meet with our MPs at the Palace of Westminster
We’ll then head into Parliament to meet our MPs. Where possible, you’ll have organised a meeting with your MP in advance. If not, you can fill in a ‘green card’ at the information desk to let your MP know you’re there and you’d like to meet with them. These meetings with MPs are usually held right in Westminster Hall, in a nearby meeting room or in their office.
Throughout the day
Our kick-off event venue will stay open until 4.30pm as a hub where you can drop in for a chat, connect with other group members, and enjoy a well-earned cup of tea. Staff will be on hand to chat about the campaign and support you ahead of your MP meetings.
Never done this before? No problem!
Don’t worry if you’ve never met your MP before, after you sign up for the lobby we’ll share plenty of information and guidance with you ahead of the day to make sure you’re prepared. You can also join our webinar on 6 Octoberwhere you can come to meet fellow participants and ask us any questions about the day. And of course on the day there’ll be staff members on hand to support you if you need.
Meeting your MP might feel daunting, but remember, they're there to represent you. This is your chance to share what matters to you and your community, and ask your MP to take action - you don’t need to be an expert.
How to prepare for the lobby
Sign up to attend. If you’re coming as part of a group, each person should sign up individually, so we know how many people to expect on the day.
Let your MP know you’re coming. Use our template emailto ask your MP in advance for a meeting on 21 October. The earlier you get in touch, the more likely you are to get a slot in their diary.
Invite your community. Ask others from your local area to join you at the lobby so your MP knows that lots of their constituents care about this campaign.

Arrange your travel. Plan your journey to the lobby and book tickets ahead if you can, to help you get there easily on the day.

Accessibility and support
We want everyone to feel able to take part. Venues will be wheelchair accessible, and you can let us know any access needs and dietary requirements when you register via the form.
You can also get in touch if you have any questions about accessibility ahead of the day – where ever possible we’ll try and meet any access requirements.
What if you can’t make it to London?
We need as many people as possible to attend the mass lobby of Parliament, so MPs know our campaign is too big to ignore. But we understand not everyone can easily make it to London.
If it's not possible for you, don't worry, you can still get involved by asking your MP to meet you locally instead.
If you're planning to take part locally, please still sign up to the lobby, so we can send you all the resources you need to meet with your MP.
What to do once you've signed up to take part locally:
Ask your MP for a meeting. Use our template email to contact your MP now and ask them to meet with you. To make the most impact, it’s best to ask for a meeting as close to the lobby day as possible. Although your MP will likely be in Westminster on 21 October, they should be available to meet in your constituency on another day close to that. The earlier you get in touch, the more likely you'll be to get a space in their diary.
Spread the word. Invite people from your community to meet your MP alongside you. The more people who join, the clearer it is to your MP that their constituents want irresponsible businesses held to account for their actions.
